Silver Medal for Squire's at Chelsea

Squire's Awarded a Silver Medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

La Cucina is the name given to Squire's Garden Centre's exhibit at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. 

Colin Squire explained "People are ever more enthusiastic about growing their own fruit and vegetables and there is also great interest in Mediterranean plants and cooking so we decided to create 'La Cucina'. This is a kitchen garden that might be found in the warmth of southern Italy, where fruit trees, herbs vegetables and spices combine around a traditional outdoor clay oven."

Italian chef and food writer Valentina Harris performed the official opening of Squire's exhibit on Monday 19 May. Valentina has written over 30 books on Italian cookery and presented the BBC series Italian Regional Cookery. Valentina delighted visitors with some of her own Italian canapes many of which used fresh ingredients from the garden itself.
