Chives – Low maintenance, which can be planted in the ground or in a pot. The entire plant is edible – lovely in salads, with potatoes or eggs.
Thyme – thyme hate too much water and are fairly drought tolerant. its leaves are perfect to flavour soups, stews and vegetable dishes.
Rosemary – an evergreen shrub, that makes a great border to a path. Pair with lamb and chicken.
Sage – a low growing evergreen shrub. Often paired with pork and used in stuffing.
Mint – provides a lovely scent in the garden. plant in a pot or in a bottomless bucket in the ground, so it doesn’t take over your garden. Great in salads and sauces or infused in water for a refreshing drink after a meal.
