Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “At Squire’s, we are proud to offer the finest quality UK grown Christmas trees. Our seasonal plants are carefully selected by our plant experts and sourced from trusted growers. With sustainability at the heart of our festive range, customers can enjoy the very best of British greenery this season, knowing every tree and plant reflects our dedication to quality, freshness, and environmental responsibility.”
Fresh Cut Christmas Trees – The Best of British Quality
Squire’s British fresh-cut Christmas trees will be arriving in-store from the week of November 18th and the comprehensive selection offers trees to match both space and budget – and includes:
- Deluxe: The pinnacle of Christmas trees, with lush, full branches, perfect symmetry, and unmatched quality.
- Premium: A top-quality tree that brings festive elegance to any home.
- Standard: A budget-friendly yet high-quality option for a traditional Christmas experience.
- Premium Slim Line Trees: Sourced from Scotland, these trees are rapidly gaining popularity, now representing 45% of Squire’s Christmas trees. Their narrow, perfectly pruned shape fits seamlessly into smaller spaces, making them versatile, easy to transport and an increasingly popular choice.
Each tree comes with Squire’s Real Christmas Tree Guarantee, offering customers peace of mind about the tree’s freshness and longevity. After customers select their tree, it’s packed in a compostable netting to ensure a lighter environmental footprint.
Sourcing the all-important Christmas greenery across Squire’s 16 centres is the remit of Plant Expert, Jeremy Hall, who comments: “We’ve spentmonths curating a collection of trees and greenery that we know our customers eagerly await each year. Selecting a Christmas tree is an annual tradition for many families, who return to Squire’s year after year, knowing they’ll find the best and most sustainably sourced tree, wreath or plant and this is something we are extremely proud of.
“Trees clean the air, with each tree taking up to ten years to grow, producing plenty of oxygen in the atmosphere. Each field absorbs 70 tonnes of carbon per hectare each year and so Christmas trees are an incredibly sustainable crop and beneficial to our environment.”
Pot Grown Trees – A Growing Favourite
The pot grown Christmas tree range is available in centres now, with sizes ranging from compact 30-45cm options up to grand 1.8-metre specimens. These trees are a fantastic investment for eco-conscious customers, as they can be planted outdoors post-Christmas to keep growing and renewing year after year. In fact, this area of trees has grown by 10% this year, showing the rising interest in environmentally-friendly festive choices.
Exclusive Handmade Wreaths
Squire’s exclusive wreaths, crafted in the Home Counties, will be available from 18th November. With ten beautifully designed styles to choose from, starting at just £26, these wreaths embody the creativity of wreath-making experts, as well as minimising plant miles.
Poinsettias – Fresh, Festive and Local
Nothing says Christmas like the iconic and vibrant Poinsettia, and Squire’s offers the freshest locally grown varieties, available in 15cm pots, in colours including traditional red, pink, white and ‘Glitter’ (red and white speckled) with their standard range. Alternatively, there is a line-up of 10.5cm premium Poinsettias in striking colours including ‘Surprise Orange,’ ‘Pink Champagne,’ ‘Ice Princess’ and, new for this year, ‘Lemon Christmas’ presented in colour coordinated pot covers. Squire’s has worked with its expert grower, Woodlark Nurseries, based in Hersham, Surrey, for many decades, to perfect its Poinsettia crop ensuring it is of the highest quality. The crop travels directly to centres, sometimes arriving within an hour of leaving the nursery, ensuring the plants are at their freshest and best. Nurtured at the nursery, the care continues at Squire’s where Poinsettias are kept at just the right temperature to keep them in peak condition. Squire’s colleagues then ensure each plants is carefully wrapped in a protectives sleeve before leaving the centre when purchased along with a Squire’s ‘Poinsettia Care Tips’ leaflet.
