New Blooming British Marvels At Squire’s This Summer

This summer, Squire’s Garden Centres will delight gardeners with a spectacular line-up of new and exciting British grown plant introductions – many of them ideal for pots, patios, balconies and smaller garden spaces. So, with the arrival of warmer days and longer evenings, there’s no better time to turn your garden into a haven of colour, scent and wildlife.
The 2025 summer selection is packed with inspiration including stunning pollinator-friendly varieties, delivering bold seasonal colour. The new plant introductions, follow successful plant trials last year. And with this spring finally bringing the warm and sunny weather gardeners have been hoping for – after a run of cool, damp springs in previous years – the mood across gardens this summer is expected to be vibrant and lively!
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, says: “We are incredibly excited about this summer’s collection of new home grown plants in our centres. There is something for every type of gardener – from experienced enthusiasts to those who are just getting started. It’s a joy to see people connecting with their gardens again and we can’t wait for visitors to discover these wonderful new varieties in our centres, some grown not too far away on our own nurseries.”
Plant Newness
Leading the line-up is a new variety of Dianthus – ‘Aura’. A cottage garden favourite, this pink-flowered variety is perfect for summer pots and patio displays, especially when teamed with classic bedding plants.
For bold, pollinator-attracting colour, look no further than the vibrant Dahlia Summer Bees range, available in eye-catching Red and Purple Bi-Colour. Their single flowers are not only a feast for the eyes, but they’re also bee magnets – a brilliant choice for environmentally-minded gardeners.
And for a playful burst of sunny yellow, Sunflower ‘Little Sun’ is a compact sunflower that keeps blooming and looks brilliant on balconies or windowsills – a favourite with bees and a perfect choice to get little ones growing their own flowers!
A Riot of Colour
Colour takes centre stage in the new Osteospermum Senorita range, with compact growth and vivid, warm-toned flowers that light up pots and hanging baskets with ease. Also joining the collection is the striking Coleus Kong Range, with large velvety leaves in flamboyant colours and unique patterns – sure to make any container garden pop.
Another eye-catching addition is the Calibrachoa range, with vibrant hues and intriguing names like ‘Pannacotta’, ‘Dracula’, ‘Smoothie’ and ‘Frozen Berry’. Each variety offers rich colour with dramatic dark centres and over-flowing displays – perfect for gardeners who want to make a statement.
Bidens ‘Bee Happy Double Orange’ delights with bright orange double flowers that deliver a big mood boost and help support bees throughout the season.
