Squire’s Garden Centres is once again bringing spooky seasonal fun to children this October half term with its popular Create & Grow event. Running daily, Monday 27 to Friday 31 October, and this year with extended hours, children are invited to get creative with craft activities and take part in a free Wicked Plant Trail – fancy dress welcome!
The main activity this year is Painting a Spooky Tealight Holder – a fun session where children can decorate a haunted house or scary tree-shaped ceramic holder to take home, complete with a complimentary battery-operated LED tealight. The activity costs £6.50 per child and lasts around 20 minutes. Advanced booking is essential and can be done online or in-store.

Also on offer is the FREE Wicked Plant Trail, where young visitors can explore the garden centre to discover clues, solve the mystery and claim a sticker reward – no booking required.
A trip to Squire’s this half term offers a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, with plenty of space to explore and the opportunity to enjoy refreshments in the Café Bar afterwards. Children can tuck into options from the popular Little Gardener’s menu while grown-ups take a well-earned break with an autumn treat.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “Our Create & Grow activities have become a much-loved tradition for many families, and we are delighted to offer a fun and creative way for children to get into the autumn atmosphere of half term. The spooky tealight holder is always popular – and makes a cheerful addition to any home in the darker months. We are also excited to welcome families for longer this year, with extended activity hours to suit busy half-term schedules.”
