Squire’s Spring Celebrations!

Festival Of Primroses And Exciting New Plant Arrivals

Spring is the season of new arrivals and Squire’s Festival of Primroses (from 26 February-through March), along with some exciting new plants making their debuts, provides perfect inspiration for refreshing gardens, patios and balconies. Whether opting for classic favourites or new introductions, Squire’s plant experts are on hand this spring to offer advice and guidance to help customers bring their garden spaces to life.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural primrose festival, this year’s line-up of spring favourites promises not to disappoint with a stunning collection of homegrown primroses, including exciting newly introduced varieties such as ‘Ringo Apricot Yellow’, ‘Starflame Violet’, ‘Ringo Cherry Blossom’, ‘Candy Cottage’, and ‘Chinese New Year’.

With over 25 different colours and varieties to choose from, the festival is a true celebration of these cheerful and easy-to-grow plants. Grown on Squire’s own nurseries, primroses are nurtured locally  to the highest quality, ensuring a dazzling display that is as sustainable as it is beautiful.

Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments:  “We are thrilled to bring back our Festival of Primroses, celebrating one of the most joyful signs of spring. These resilient and reliable plants offer an instant burst of colour as we come out of winter . Whether you’re brightening up flower beds, filling containers or creating a welcoming display at your doorstep, our homegrown primroses are a must-have for the season.

“As spring approaches, we are also introducing some new beautifully scented lavenders and versatile rosemary varieties – perfect for adding structure, fragrance, and year-round interest to any garden. Our plant experts can’t wait to share these wonderful seasonal highlights with our customers, and hope they’ll inspire gardeners of all levels to create something truly enchanting in their outdoor spaces.”

Perfect for beds, borders, containers, and window boxes, primroses thrive in partial shade, perform best when planted in peat-free multi-purpose compost, and reward gardeners with continuous blooms throughout the spring when regularly deadheaded.
