Welcome back to the nation’s favourite flower - Squires Garden Centres

Welcome back to the nation’s favourite flower

Did you know that roses were in short supply during lockdown? Everyone wanted them and many nurseries and garden centres simply sold out. But now it is time to welcome them back!

Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres said; “Roses are now in stock at Squire’s. They have just arrived and are at their absolute freshest. Traditionally roses were always lifted from the fields and sold in the autumn. Now we can sell them all year round but I still think this is, without doubt, the best time to plant Roses and all other hardy plants. Roses may look like a pot of stems on a garden centre bench at present, but planting now gives them time to establish before winter ready to burst into leaf and bloom next spring and summer. Roses last for many years giving you beautiful colour and scent. They are perfect for that cottage garden look and as a companion for many other plants, as well as providing blooms to cut and enjoy indoors. Without doubt they are a must have in my garden, where I enjoy the scent and soft colour of Compassion and New Dawn year after year along with many other varieties.”

Plant bush roses such as Arthur Bell and Fragrant Cloud for wonderful vivid colour in spring. Or to add height to your garden try a climbing rose like Compassion or New Dawn.
