Prunus lusitanica or Portuguese Laurel is a wonderful, evergreen shrub that is ideal for hedging in your garden. The dark red stems are covered in deep green foliage and are joined in early summer by small white flowers. In Autumn dark, purple fruit appear following the flowers. This plant enjoys a position in full sun to partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. The potential height of this shrub is 12 metres with a potential spread of 9 metres.
