Clematis Chevalier 3 Litre

00127560

Clematis Chevalier is a double Florette large climber that falls under the group 2 Clematis. Although sounding complicated ‘group 2’ Clematis simply means that a light prune is required to encourage new flowers early in the season and to remove any damaged stems before new growth emerges in the early spring. This clematis is on the larger side and will look right at home when climbing up a wall side border, cottage and informal gardens or alternatively, you can use this as a screen to hide or corner off certain areas of the garden. As clematis enjoy their roots being on the cool side, especially during the summer months so we advise that when planting place, the crown at least 5-8cm deep in a cool, moist but well-drained soil to keep the roots nice and cool. Flowering early in the spring with tones of deep blue and purple with an almost red stiped running through the middle of the petal. This variety of clematis offers nectar and pollen for any bees and so provides a vital food source for any pollinators. This variety will reach a potential height and spread of 2.5 metres.
