Chamaerops Humilis 150-170 cm 7.5 Litres

10337954

Chamaerops humilis, commonly known as the Dwarf Fan Palm or European Fan Palm, is a striking architectural plant that brings a bold, exotic feel to patios, courtyards, or tropical-style borders. Native to the Mediterranean, it’s the only palm species native to continental Europe and is valued for its hardiness and adaptability to UK conditions. This slow-growing palm features multiple stems topped with fan-shaped, blue-green fronds that add dramatic texture and movement to the garden. Tolerant of wind, salt spray, and drought once established, it’s ideal for coastal locations and sunny, sheltered spots. The plant can reach up to 2.5 metres in maturity but remains compact in containers, making it a versatile feature for pots and planters. Minimal pruning is required – simply remove any spent or damaged fronds at the base. Chamaerops humilis is cold-tolerant down to around -10°C in free-draining soil, though winter protection may be needed in more exposed areas. A must-have for lovers of bold, evergreen statement planting.
