Leucojum Aestivum also known as ‘Summer drop’ is a bulbus perennial that has long narrow leaves with a green tipped pure white flower. Similar to ‘snowdrops’ these amazing plants need to self-seed in order to regrow next season we recommend leaving the head and plant to die off as this will give you the best results for next season. Flowering typically later in the season, these summer drops would look fantastic when planted among Tulips, crocuses and Daffodils offering your beds a huge colour pallet which also provides a vital food source for any beneficial insects. Plant bulbs from September to December 15-20cm deep and 10cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil, if planting in containers you can plant more closely simply by spacing the bulbs 1-2cm apart in a single layer, or 2-3cm apart if layering them for a showier impact.
