Chionodoxa Luciliae like Crocus are the first of the flowering bulbs and come into season (Feb-March depending on the frosts) with a mixture of violet and white star shaped flowers and when planted en mass, they can carpet the ground. Thanks to their small size and planting season, these bulbs are perfect for creating a natural effect in lawns or beneath trees. They don’t require full sun and will thrive in partially shaded areas, making them ideal for spots that receive limited light but could benefit from a splash of colour. If planted in your lawn, we advise that you wait until flowering has completed as Chionodoxa Luciliae does need to self-seed for next year’s growth. Chionodoxa Luciliae is reach a potential height of only 10cm but will eventually spread as the years go on.
