Borne from Madagascar Dypsis 'Lutescens' is another highly beneficial house plant to add into your home. Like the peace lily this 'Butterfly Palm' cleanses the air and adds extra humidity creating a healthier environment. As this Palm is commonly found in tropical areas where the trees can often cover most of the sunlight for any ground plants the best climate for this specimen would be a light shaded area with minimal direct sunlight. Watering around once a week or when the top inch of soil is dry this Palm will thrive mostly anywhere in your house. Growing at a moderate pace in the wild these Palms can reach a substantial size of 12m however, when in your home it shouldn't reach a size of no more than 5m with a spread 3m.
