Acer 'Palmatum' is regarded as one of the most amazing and wonderful dwarf trees anyone can have in their garden due to their beautiful colour changing leaves in the autmn. Acer Sumi Nagashi is no exception, coming to life in spring with deep blood red leaves that sometimes take a shade of a dark purple transition into a maroon red for the summer months before changing into a wonderfully bright red making the partial shaded area burst with fantastic colour. Best positoned in a partial shaded area to avoid the hot afternoon sun in a sheltered area where there is little to no wind. Depending on who you speak to people tend to advise different soils parametres ranging from standard multi purpose compost to an ericaceous mix to help leaf growth, we reccomend whatever you decide as long as there is enough drainage as they hate being sat in water.
