Sunflower Giant Single Seeds

Start by sowing the seeds indoors, about 1.5cm deep, individually in small pots with compost. Ensure ample watering and place them in a cold frame or greenhouse to acclimate gradually to outdoor conditions. When frost risk has passed, plant them 45cm apart. Alternatively, sow the seeds directly outdoors in prepared, watered soil, around 1.5cm deep, placing two seeds every 45cm. Seedlings usually emerge within 14-21 days; remove the weaker one and transplant if desired. These sunflowers thrive in well-drained, fertile soil, requiring full sun for their large heads to shine. You can even leave the spent flower heads to attract wild birds in the autumn. These sunflowers are perfect for novice gardeners and children, offering a rewarding growing experience.
