The Acer Dissectum Garnet is a slow growing Japanese maple with a fantastic show of dark bold red brown leaves and purple flowers from spring through to summer where the flowers grow into red fruits. The foliage then turns into a slightly lighter red in the autumn, to then loose it’s leaves in the winter revealing a vibrant stem ideal for highlighting in your garden. This acer enjoys a full sun to partial shade position as well and a moist, well drained compost. A stunning acer, this tree can grow to a potential of 5 metres and a potential spread of 2.5 metres after 10-20 years, which can be restricted when grown in a pot.
