Onion Red Baron Seeds

Onion red baron seeds - red baron onions yield high quantities of attractive blood-red globes with an excellent flavour that stores well. To grow these onions, you can start indoors for larger bulbs by sowing them 0.5cm deep in a seed compost tray. Keep them well-watered and maintain a temperature of 15-20°c. Once large enough to handle, transplant them 5cm apart to other trays. Gradually acclimate young plants to outdoor conditions before planting them 23cm apart. Alternatively, you can sow them directly outdoors in well-prepared soil, 1.5cm deep, with 30cm between rows. Seedlings typically appear in 14-28 days, and you should thin them to 23cm apart. Cultivate well-dug, fertile soil for optimal results. Encourage ripening by gently turning down the foliage as it starts to turn yellow, and allow the onions to dry before storing them in a cool, dry room. Red baron onions are a versatile choice for various culinary applications.
