Badshot Lea Village Infants School Festive Tree Voted ‘Best of British’!
Children from Badshot Lea Infant School have won first prize in Squire’s Garden Centres ‘Decorate A Christmas Tree’ Schools Competition 2022.
Local schools were invited to make their own decorations along the theme of ‘Best of British’, using household and re-usable items and then bring them along to Squire’s Badshot Lea to each decorate a 6ft Christmas Tree in their own style. Customers, parents, friends and relatives were encouraged to visit the centre and vote for the tree they thought looked the best.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “We were delighted to once again welcome local school children to Squire’s Badshot Lea and were so impressed with the pupils’ creativeness – lots of hard work and thought has clearly gone into each of the displays. Christmas is a special time of year in schools and it is wonderful for our centre to be able to host activities like this and enjoy the excitement of the season together. Congratulations to Badshot Lea Village Infant School on their winning tree.”
Gemma Ball, Headteacher, Badshot Lea Village Infants School, comments: “Our pupils had a wonderful time taking part in Squire’s ‘Decorate A Christmas Tree’ competition this year. They made red, white and blue paperchains from scrap paper and old magazines, festive teabag decorations were biodegradable and some happy little sprouts can be added to the compost heap too! The children are thrilled their Christmas tree was voted as the winner!
Special thanks go to the two runner-up schools, William Cobbett Primary and South Farnham Infants, for their participation and originality of their trees and creativity of the decorations.
