Child’s Play at Squire’s Wokingham
Designed for young children*, the play area is attractively fenced to ensure the safety of children while they enjoy the newly installed equipment. The carefully selected play equipment encourages children to go on adventures, using their own imagination, with features including a wooden jeep, a large multiplay unit with tunnel, and two towers with slide and access rope, as well as a large seesaw that parents and children can play on together. The addition of a large display board teaches children about local birds and trees, ensuring there is a learning element to the area.
The use of sustainable materials is an important element of the play area and its design, in keeping with Squire’s business-wide approach to sustainability in all areas. Robinia wood is used in the equipment, meeting the regulated sustainable forestry scheme*.
Matt Tanner, Centre Manager, Squire’s Wokingham, comments: “We are delighted to now have the centre’s new play area up and running and being enjoyed. It’s a great addition to Squire’s Wokingham, offering something for local families with younger visitors, allowing children to have fun and use their imagination, while being educational at the same time. Squire’s is committed to sustainability and the new play area is a perfect example of how we incorporate our approach to sustainability in all we do.
“We are looking forward to families visiting and offering something for the whole family when they visit us”.
