Celebrating 10 years at Milford and 5 years at Frensham

Customers are warmly invited to join members of the Squire family for two special Anniversary Tea Parties this summer, celebrating the 5th anniversary of Squire’s Frensham and 10th anniversary of Squire’s Milford.

Hosted by Colin Squire OBE., Chairman Emeritus, and his daughter, Sarah Squire, Chairman, the events will celebrate Squire’s taking ownership of these centres in 2013 at Milford and 2018 at Frensham.

Customers will be treated to a very special afternoon including a glass of fizz on arrival and afternoon tea menu especially put together for the occasion, to comprise classic finger sandwiches with seasonal ingredients, including egg mayonnaise and cucumber as well as maple glazed gammon ham, tomato and red onion bruschetta, plain or fruit scone with clotted cream and jam and lemon and elderflower cake, to name just a few.  There will be music provided by local band, Jazz Trio at Squire’s Frensham Anniversary Tea Party and local harpist, Maddy Hurlstone, will play at Squire’s Milford.  Tickets cost £20 per person and can be booked online or in-store; gluten free menu options are available.

Cont’d …

Supporting the local community and charities has been at the heart of the Squire’s family philosophy for more than 85 years.  Continuing this support, there will be a raffle at both events, supporting each centres’ current ‘Charity of the Year’ – Squire’s Frensham charity is Woodlarks Campsite (Camping for the Disabled) and Squire’s Milford charity is Royal Surrey Charity.

Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “My father and I are very much looking forward celebrating these very special milestones at Frensham and Milford.  We aim to be at the heart the communities we serve and our family and our colleagues are particularly delighted to be able to share these celebrations with our customers.  The Anniversary Tea Parties will be a wonderful way to mark the occasion with the people who matter most to us.”

Squire’s Frensham

Located near the famous Frensham Ponds in the heart of the Surrey countryside, Squire’s Frensham was acquired in August 2018.  Squire’s Frensham offers an extensive range of quality plants, compost, tools and sundries, bird feed and housewares.  In addition, there is the ever-popular Café Bar and renowned Food Hall with butcher, which was visited by the Countess of Wessex in the autumn of 2020.  Squire’s Frensham is also home to a well-established and extensive camping equipment department.

Squire’s Milford

Squire’s Milford is located on the Portsmouth Road and was acquired by Squire’s in 2013 from Secretts, who previously operated the garden centre and still run their acclaimed ‘pick your own’ and farm shop next door.  It has been extensively re-modelled since then, with the addition of a table service café bar in 2020.  Squire’s Milford hosts a wide range of high quality indoor and outdoor plant, shrubs and trees.  With beautiful gardens to the rear of the site which are a delight to enjoy, Squire’s Milford is also home to the only National Plant Collection of Kalmia latifolia cultivars in Britain.  The stylish Cafe Bar, serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
