Grovelands School is top of the tree in Christmas competition

Grovelands Primary School has won first prize in Squire’s Garden Centres ‘Decorate A Christmas Tree’ competition. The children designed and made their own tree decorations out of recycled materials, then hung them on a special tree at Squire’s. They beat off local competition to win the best-decorated tree as voted for by customers at Squire’s in Shepperton.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres commented;
“All the schools involved created beautiful decorations out of recycled materials – we were very impressed with their skills. It was a pleasure to have the children at Squire’s while they decorated their trees, and we will be rewarding the winners at Grovelands School with a pre-Christmas treat of a festive goody bag each.”
Jo Coleman, Deputy Headteacher at Grovelands Primary School added;
“We are so proud of everyone at Grovelands who helped in the creation of the recycled Christmas tree decorations. The staff and parents collected such a wide range of items and the children had so much fun creating them; it has really got us in the Christmas spirit! Thank you to Squire’s.”
