Squire’s Customers’ Bring New Year Cheer to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice

Squire’s Badshot Lea was delighted to make a tremendous donation to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, their ‘Charity of the Year’, following the success of their Christmas grotto event held at the centre in November and December, which helped raise £2,332 for the local charity.
Squire’s much-loved Christmas Grottos made a welcome return since pre-Covid times, with grottos appearing at four of the group’s centre locations – Badshot Lea, Milford, West Horsley and Shepperton. A £1 from the sale of each children’s ticket sale was donated to each centre’s ‘Charity of the Year’, in total raising over £6,000 across four charities.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “We were delighted to see the return of our Christmas Grottos in some of our centres during the festive period. They certainly are a much-loved feature of Christmas at Squire’s for families – as well as an important part of each centre’s fundraising efforts for their chosen local charity.
“It has been great to be able to bring some post-Christmas cheer to the charities that we support by donating this money to them. Each of our garden centres choose a local charity they would like to support for the year. We hope the money raised will help support the amazing work these charities do in our local communities.”
