Squire’s Garden Centres will be hosting their much-loved Create & Grow programme this May Half Term, with a ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ activity (booking essential).
As the weather warms up and thoughts turn to healthy eating, the Veg Pot activity is the perfect way to show young gardeners how easy, as well as rewarding, it can be to grow vegetables. The activity includes planting a colourful pot with three vegetable plants, such as tomato, chillies, lettuce and peppers (range subject to availability), in peat-free compost. Participants will then be able to use their best handwriting to write the plant names on the labels provided. Once potted up and complete, little ones can take their pots home and watch the magic begin, as the plants begin to grow. Children will be given a leaflet on ‘how to care for their vegetables’, to help them once they get home.
In addition, there is a Healthy Fruit and Veg Wordsearch with free sticker on completion (FREE, no booking required).
