Squire’s Long Ditton enjoyed celebrating its 20th anniversary last week with a special summer tea party for guests, dignitaries and representatives from the centre’s local ‘Charity of the Year’, Princess Alice Hospice.

Guests were warmly welcomed and treated to a special afternoon tea expertly prepared and presented by the Squire’s Long Ditton team and hosted by Colin Squire OBE and his daughter, Sarah.  Guests included representatives from the centre’s charity of the year, Princess Alice Hospice, The Mayor and Mayoress of Elmbridge and guests from St Mary’s Church, Long Ditton.  As well as marking the anniversary of the building of Squire’s Garden Centre, the event also served to celebrate the centre’s links with the local community. Many regular customers attended and Tim Iredale of the Hospice delivered a short speech about the importance of their partnership with the Squire’s team and its role in the local community.  Attendees enjoyed music from local harpist, Rebeca Jones, and a charity raffle raising £351 for Princess Alice Hospice.

Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to those who attended the event to mark this very special anniversary at Squire’s Long Ditton, as well as the centre team for hosting such a memorable event.  The afternoon was a wonderful celebration, with many of our customers attending and enjoy the ambience along with beautiful music and food. The afternoon truly illustrated the role Squire’s Long Ditton plays in the local community and how much we value the special connection with our customers and the charity we support.”
