Squire’s Woking Raises Over £3,000 for Local Charity

Squire’s Garden Centre in Woking hosted a special Curry & Quiz Night recently, supporting the centre’s Charity of the Year, Quest RDA and raising at fantastic £3,150.

The event was a great success with over 130 people attending and enjoying a delicious curry, drinks and an entertaining quiz, compared by Quiz Master extraordinaire, John Jary.  John, who is the Assistant Plant Manager, at neighbouring Squire’s Chertsey hosted and devised the quiz. In addition, local choir ‘Accord’ entertained guests with some wonderful harmonies and the raffle was well-supported with the donation of some impressive prizes.

Rupert Sleight, Centre Manager at Squire’s Woking, comments: “We were delighted with the funds raised from the evening and I would like to extend my thanks to the Squire’s Woking team for making the event happen and being so supportive of the idea, as well as to the charity for their amazing help on the night.  We have enjoyed working with Quest RDA this year and this event has enabled us to raise a significant amount of money which we know is desperately needed to keep the centre and activities running. This in turn makes a difference to all who benefit from the great work of the charity.”

Julie Jones, Chairman of Quest RDA (Riding for the Disabled), comments: “We enjoyed a wonderful night of fundraising with the Squire’s Woking team and would like to thank them for hosting such a special event on behalf of Quest RDA – also for their support throughout this year.  A significant amount of money was raised on the night and the guests enjoyed a highly entertaining evening.”
