Squire’s Woking Welcomes Rupert
Rupert Sleight has been appointed as Garden Centre Manager at Squire’s Woking this month.
Previously Centre Manager of Squire’s Garden Centre Chertsey, Rupert has worked in horticulture for over 17 years and has been with Squire’s for six years, fulfilling several roles including Assistant Manager at Squire’s Cobham as well as working at West Horsley, Milford and Badshot Lea, before joining Chertsey.
Sarah Squire, Chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, comments: “I am delighted that Rupert has joined our Woking centre to lead the team there, taking over from Centre Manager, Ed Ridgeon. Rupert is a tremendously valued member of the Squire’s team with a fantastic knowledge of plants and gardening. His energy and enthusiasm will certainly shine through!
”We are extremely pleased that Ed will be staying within the business, keeping his expertise and talent within Squire’s, as he will be supporting our Sustainability programme on a part-time basis, while completing his MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Surrey. Commenting on his new appointment, Rupert said: “I am really excited to be joining the Squire’s Woking team and using the experience I have gained over my years with the business. Woking is a fantastic centre, in a great location with a friendly team, and I’m very much looking forward to the coming months!”
Following a recent extension, Squire’s Woking has an inspirational plant area including outdoor canopy, a large shop, offering an extensive choice of gardening products, gifts and furniture. The large Café Bar is light and airy with a beautiful veranda for enjoying the outdoors and viewing the plant area. With full waiting service, food and drinks can be ordered from comfortable tables.
